Welcome to the Greater Manchester Vis website. These terms set out the ground rules for using this site. By using it, you agree to them — and we have kept them short and in plain English.

1. Who we are

Greater Manchester Vis is a community group for blind and partially sighted people, run by volunteers under our constitution. Contact us at hello@gmvis.org.uk or on 0161 123 4567.

2. Using this site

• Use the site lawfully and considerately — do not attempt to break, overload or gain unauthorised access to it.
• Do not use anything on this site to harass, harm or misrepresent our members or volunteers.
• The admin area is for authorised club volunteers only.

3. Content and photographs

The text, logos and images on this site belong to Greater Manchester Vis or are used with permission — including photographs of our members, which are published with consent. You are welcome to share links to our pages; please do not reuse photographs of our members without asking us first.

4. Session details can change

We keep dates, times and venues as up to date as we can, but they can change at short notice. Please check with us before travelling to a session — we would hate for you to have a wasted journey.

5. Sport is sport

Taking part in physical activity carries some natural risk. Our sessions are run with trained guides and adapted equipment, and nothing on this website is medical advice — if you are unsure about starting a new activity, have a chat with your GP first, then come and see us.

6. Links to other sites

We link to partner organisations and our social media channels. Those sites have their own terms and policies, and we are not responsible for their content.

7. Our liability

This website is provided in good faith. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for loss arising from reliance on its content or from the site being temporarily unavailable. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under law.

8. Safeguarding and concerns

The welfare of our members comes first — read our safeguarding policy. If something on this site or at the club has not felt right, please share a concern with us.

9. The legal bits

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction over any dispute. If we update these terms, we will change this page and the effective date above.
